Audio-Technica Introduces ES954 Hanging Microphone Array
— New hanging mic array is ideal for conference rooms and other meeting spaces —

Bangalore, September 18, 2018 — Audio-Technica, a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 50 years, introduces the ES954 Hanging Microphone Array, an ideal, cost-effective solution for huddle rooms, conference rooms and other meeting spaces. When controlled by the Audio-Technica ATDM-0604 Digital SmartMixer®, the four-capsule microphone array provides 360-degree coverage through virtual hypercardioid or cardioid outputs which can be steered horizontally and tilted vertically.

Intended primarily for videoconferencing applications, the ES954 may be used singly or in multiples to capture every person speaking in a room, with the total number of channels restricted only by the capacity of the mixer or DSP device controlling the system. When using the ATDM-0604 Digital SmartMixer the intuitive graphic interface enables control of the width and orientation of each virtual polar pattern, which may be steered in 30-degree increments, with a tilt function accommodating differing ceiling heights or users that are sitting/standing.

The ES954 Hanging Microphone Array features a permanently attached 1.2-meter (4-foot) cable with locking grommet enabling easy microphone height adjustment. UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology offers outstanding rejection of radio frequency interference (RFI). The package includes a Plenum-rated AT8554 Ceiling Mount with RJ45 connectors and push-type wire terminals for simple, secure installation. The ES954 connects to the mixer over a pair of standard Cat 5 cables. Two RJ45 breakout cables are provided to input the four channels, plus an LED tally, into the mixer. An integral, logic-controlled 360-degree red/green LED ring provides clear indication of the array’s mute status.

A simple setup might include a single ES954 over the center of a conference table configured from the mixer to provide coverage via four identical quadrants. Used in conjunction with a gate on each microphone channel, the system could be configured to automatically follow anyone talking while moving around the space.

Alternative seating arrangements in the room can be accommodated by re-orienting each of the four microphone patterns in the mixer’s software. Different seating configurations and associated coverage patterns can be saved as presets in the mixer for quick recall. In larger rooms, multiple ES954 microphone arrays could be installed — for instance, one at each end of a long conference table — and the polar patterns of the multiple microphone arrays steered and widened or narrowed accordingly.

Audio-Technica Honors Lienau AV Associates with Samurai Award for Second Consecutive Year

About the AT5047 Cardioid Condenser Studio Microphone
The AT5047 is a premier studio microphone that is equally at home capturing instruments and vocals. Boasting an exceptionally wide dynamic range – the widest among all Audio-Technica microphones – the AT5047 captures the full, expressive character of a sound source, no matter how loud or how soft. Audio-Technica Appoints Green Sources As Its Distributor

Bengaluru: Audio-Technica Corporation has appointed Green Sources Pvt. Ltd. as their professional installation product distributor for India.

Founded in 2009, Green Sources distributes brands of Audio Visual, Conferencing and Mounting products in India offers marketing, logistics and technical support.

Audio-Technica provides Wireless Solution for Crescendo The Musical

Singapore, 09 January 2017— Audio-Technica is proud to have supplied 18 channels of UHF wireless system, 8 channels of 2.4GHz digital wireless system and on-site technical support for the first-ever musical adapted from a Xin Yao television series, Crescendo. The musical was staged at Kallang Theatre from 16 – 18 December 2016.

Supported by National Arts Council and brought to you by Shining Entertainment Investment, Ocean Butterfly Music and WaWa Pictures, Crescendo the Musical was adapted from the popular Xin Yao television drama series, Crescendo, which tells the story of a few Xin Yao enthusiasts who had to endure years of hard toil and sacrifices in pursuit of their musical dreams.

The musical featured more than 20 Xin Yao Classics and was performed by Singapore’s leading artistes Shane Pow (Beam Artists and Top 10 Most Popular Male Artiste Winner 2015/2016), Daren Tan (Project Superstar Season 2 winner), Brian Ng (The Changing Point Productions artiste), Bonnie Loo (Mediacorp artiste), Youyi (Mediacorp artiste) and Boon Hui Lu (local singer-songwriter).

For this production, Audio-Technica proposed to deploy a mixture of UHF and 2.4 digital wireless systems. The UHF wireless system was used mainly by the cast for their vocals while the 2.4GHz system for the instruments to ensure that the production is interference free.

"After a RF Scan on site, we realized that the venue faces UHF interferences from Digital TV Signals, overseas UHF Radio Signals and Stray signals from other UHF wireless system due to the proximity to Indoor Stadium and National Stadium. The venue also has an LED Display Wall, which also affected the UHF spectrum. Therefore, we decided to split the wireless requirements by allowing the cast to use our 3000 series and the musical instruments to be hook up with our System 10 2.4Ghz digital wireless system." said Eugene Guo, Technical Support Engineer of Audio-Technica (S.E.A.).

Sound Designer, Jing Ng, was pleased with this decision "The wireless belt-pack was only 62 grams without batteries and the BP892cw-TH was only 6 grams in weight and have a diameter of 2.6mm. The cast didn’t feel that they have a microphone on them and were able to perform better. The microphone could also take the high SPL without cracking and is sensitive enough to pick up the nuances of the emotions needed. The ATW-T1006EX, wireless boundary microphone, worked brilliantly as a Carjon Microphone, picking up the lows and highs of the Carjon playing perfectly. The Audio-Technica Team was also able to resolve the RF issues encountered at the venue due to the huge LED Wall and other RF users in the vicinity"

Launched in 2015, Audio-Technica BP40 is a dynamic vocal microphone with rich, clear, natural condenser-like sound for a variety of applications including radio, overdubs, post-production, podcasting and more. The mic’s hyper cardioid polar pattern provides isolation of the desired sound source, and maximum off-axis rejection when working in close production environments. Its optimized capsule placement helps maintain a commanding vocal presence even at a distance, while the multistage windscreen provides superior internal pop filtering. It also includes a switchable 100 Hz high-pass filter to provide even more pop protection. Each radio conty has at least 4 sets of BP40 being installed and the rest were installed in the audio production suite.

The BP40’s large diameter diaphragm features patented floating-edge construction that maximizes diaphragm surface area and optimizes overall diaphragm performance, while the humbucking voice coil prevents electromagnetic interference (EMI) (e.g. from video monitors, AC power, etc.). The mic’s design, inspired by the visual representation of a waveform, features rugged, all-metal construction for dependable use in professional broadcast environments. Audio-Technica Introduces Its ATH-DSR9BT and ATH-DSR7BT Pure Digital Drive Headphones with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology at CES 2017

Stow, OH 01-03-2017 – Audio-Technica today announced the introduction of its ATH-DSR9BT and ATH-DSR7BT Wireless Headphones with Pure Digital Drive technology. Both models are the first headphones with Bluetooth wireless technology to employ Audio-Technica’s new Pure Digital Drive system, which keeps the audio signal completely digital from source to driver to offer never before-available wireless headphone sound quality.

Typically, in headphones using Bluetooth wireless technology, the digital signal goes through a series of steps that process and transform the wireless signal. With each processing step, there’s an opportunity for distortion and disruption in the audio quality. With the Pure Digital Drive system used in the ATH-DSR9BT and ATH-DSR7BT, Audio-Technica combines its engineering know-how of designing headphone drivers and the latest technology. The Trigence Semiconductor Dnote® chipset is used instead of a traditional D/A converter and amplifier. The Dnote system keeps the audio signal entirely in the digital domain from the source right through to the driver, thereby eliminating the opportunities for disruption or distortion that occur in the conversion stages employed in traditional systems. The digital pulses generated by the chipset directly excite the voice coil(s) of the driver to move the diaphragm forward and backward to create the sound waves heard by the user.

In order to make the Pure Digital Drive technology a practical reality, Audio-Technica needed to engineer the drivers from the ground up. A unique four-wire voice coil is used in the ATH-DSR9BT to provide precise control of the diaphragm displacement, resulting in improved accuracy in the audio representation. The ATH-DSR9BT’s True Motion D/A Driver uses a new, very light and responsive 45 mm driver diaphragm coated with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) for superlative fidelity, and the ATH-DSR7BT employs a 45 mm True Motion Driver.

The ATH-DSR9BT has an acoustic damper inside its housing to control the airflow in front and behind the diaphragm to further tailor the sound to achieve smoother, more natural audio reproduction across the entire frequency range. The driver assemblies and housings are engineered to operate together as a complete system to deliver the required volume output along with wide frequency response and high efficiency, and take best advantage of the exceptional sonic purity provided by the Pure Digital Drive system.

The ATH-DSR7BT is built upon the design and engineering of the acclaimed ATH-MSR7, winner of the Reviewed.com/USA TODAY 2015 Best Headphones of the Year Award. The ATH-DSR7BT and ATH-MSR7 share features of their drivers and driver housings, including lightweight voice coils and a specially designed diaphragm to improve transient response of the driver. The headphones’ printed circuit boards are mounted away from where they could interfere with the driver’s acoustic response, and a layered aluminum housing reduces unwanted vibration and controls internal airflow for maximum audio clarity.

The Pure Digital Drive system also enables the ATH-DSR9BT and ATH-DSR7BT to overcome the sonic limitations of conventional Bluetooth transmission. The headphones support aptX® HD, aptX and AAC codecs (as well as the SBC format) at up to 24-bit/96kHz and up to 24-bit/48kHz signals in Bluetooth mode. Both feature NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality for ready pairing with an NFC-compatible device and remember up to eight devices for automatic re-pairing. Both models feature a built-in mic and controller for answering calls and controlling volume and music playback.

The ATH-DSR9BT and ATH-DSR7BT are able to deliver Hi-Res Audio compliant playback from audio sources when connected via their included USB cable. All the controls and indicators for both models are mounted on one of the earcups for ready access. On both models, three LED indicators provide pairing and charging status, battery level and the codec in use. Both headphones feature soft formfitting foam earpads and a padded headband for total long-wearing comfort. Both models have a rechargeable battery that provides 15 hours continuous use (1,000 hours standby).

NAB Show, Las Vegas, NV 04-21-2017 – At the 2017 NAB Show (booth C2622), Alteros, an Audio-Technica company, will introduce the GTX Series Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Wireless Microphone System, a truly game-changing professional broadcast solution that offers immunity to radio frequency spectrum regulatory changes, bandwidth loss and channel crowding. The Alteros GTX Series is a fully digital 6.5 GHz system that provides reliable, interference-free performance and license-free operation, supporting up to 24 simultaneous, high-quality, low-latency (< 3ms), uncompanded 48 kHz/24-bit audio channels in any indoor or outdoor broadcast environment.

The product of seven years of dedicated research and development, during which it underwent real-world testing in conjunction with major broadcasters and wireless audio professionals, the GTX Series system offers several significant benefits. Getting Deeper Into the Groove: Audio-Technica Introduces Its VM-Type Cartridges at CES 2017

Stow, OH 01-03-2017 – At CES 2017 Audio-Technica is introducing its VM-Type moving magnet phono cartridges, which employ the company’s patented V-shaped Dual Magnet design along with a host of modern improvements. The nine models in the VM lineup include three different cartridge bodies and three different stylus shapes, to deliver optimized playback of all types of stereo, mono and 78 RPM records.

“Audio-Technica has been a foremost manufacturer of phono cartridges since the 1960s and our new VM line builds upon that expertise to offer a cartridge for every music lover and record enthusiast,” said Crystal Griffith, Audio-Technica U.S. Marketing Manager. “In the past, some audiophiles would even swap cartridge bodies and styli to obtain that ‘nth degree’ of performance for a particular type of record, and in our VM lineup we’ve already done that by offering pre-selected combinations of cartridge bodies and stylus configurations for stereo, mono and even 78 RPM shellac disc playback.”

The new VM lineup is built around the 700 Series, 600 Series and 500 Series cartridge bodies and the various models utilize one of three different types of styli – special line contact, elliptical or conical. Every cartridge employs Audio-Technica’s patented Dual Magnet design, which duplicates the “V”-shaped arrangement of the magnets in the cutter head and precisely positions the magnets to match the positions of the left and right channels in the groove walls. Consequently, the VM design provides exceptional channel separation, stereo imaging, frequency response and tracking of the record groove. All the cartridges feature high-purity 6N-OFC oxygen-free copper wiring for maximum sonic purity and extraordinary resolution of fine musical detail.

The 700 Series is designed to deliver the highest levels of moving-magnet cartridge performance. Each 700 Series model features a die-cast aluminum-alloy housing that minimizes internal vibration and provides additional shielding. Three models are available: the VM760SLC with a nude rectangular shank special line contact stylus (US$649.00), the VM750SH with Shibata stylus (US$399.00) and the VM740ML with Audio-Technica’s exclusive MicroLine® stylus (US$329.00).

Audio-Technica’s 500 Series cartridges are designed to provide superior audio quality and outstanding value. All feature a low-resonance polymer housing and additional refinements for best-in-class performance. Models include the VM540ML with MicroLine stylus (US$249.00), VM530EN with elliptical nude stylus (US$179.00), VM520EB with elliptical bonded stylus (US$119.00) and VM510CB with conical bonded stylus (US$109.00).

The 600 Series VM610MONO and VM670SP cartridges are specially designed for the playback of mono and 78 RPM records, respectively. (SRP: US$129.00 and US$149.00.) In both models the left and right output terminals are connected internally to reduce record noise (which is primarily in the vertical direction of stylus movement) and deliver a tightly focused, centered sonic image. Both cartridges feature a conical bonded stylus with a tip radius that is optimized for the playback of mono (VM610MONO) or 78 RPM (VM670SP) discs.

All Audio-Technica VM-Type phono cartridges will be available in February 2017.

Audio-Technica Introduces New High Density Spectrum-Efficient 6000 Series Wireless System

NAB Show, Las Vegas, NV 04-24-2017 – Audio-Technica (booth C2622), a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 50 years, is debuting its new 6000 Series High Density Wireless System, a spectrum-efficient solution that allows users to pack 31 channels in 4 MHz of bandwidth. The 2016 FCC Incentive Auction has resulted in a repack of the broadcast spectrum, reducing the amount of spectrum available for wireless microphone operations and driving the need for spectrum-efficient technology to operate a high number of simultaneous channels in today’s market. To address this issue, Audio-Technica developed the 6000 Series, whose channels are spaced at 125 KHz intervals and can all be used simultaneously. The system operates in the 944-952 MHz band, which is free of broadcast TV. The FCC has expanded license eligibility for this band beyond broadcasters and content creators to include sound companies and venues that routinely operate 50 wireless microphones or more.

Alteros Receives IABM 2017 Game Changer Award at NAB

Audio-Technica Microphones Employed for Front-Line Vocals on Multi-Act “Dig Your Roots” Tour

Stow, OH 05-16-2017 – One of the hottest tours of recent note has been Florida Georgia Line’s “Dig Your Roots” tour, in which the country duo of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley performed in 57 cities across the U.S. and Canada to over 800,000 fans. The tour was extended into 2017 with additional dates in North America, and it has also included opening performances by Dustin Lynch and Chris Lane. After extensive evaluation of other systems available on the market, Zach Pierce, Production Manager and FOH for Chris Lane, came to the same conclusion as Blumenberg and Rogers: “After a substantial ‘shootout’ with other combinations of brands/capsules, we chose the A-T 5000 wireless unit with the T6100 microphone capsule because it reproduced an incredibly accurate vocal right out of the gate. Our tour has an extensive thrust setup that puts the artist directly in front of the PA from multiple angles, and the T6100 gave us the clearest image with limited to no feedback. As for the A-T 5000, we haven't had one dip in RF strength to date! It's been a work horse for us and we rely on its consistency day in and day out."

Audio-Technica Releases Updates to Popular Installed Sound Support iPhone App

Audio-Technica ATUC-50 Digital Discussion System Employed for University of Central Florida Board of Trustees

Stow, OH 06-08-2017 – The ATUC-50 Digital Discussion System from Audio-Technica, a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 50 years, has been selected as the discussion system of choice for meetings of the Board of Trustees at the University of Central Florida (UCF), located in Orlando. The Orlando office of CCS Presentation Systems (one of 30 locations nationwide), in coordination with UCF, selected the ATUC-50 based on sound quality and ease of use and recently completed the integration of what is essentially a mobile discussion system, as the quarterly board meetings occur in different places on campus and needed a semi-portable discussion solution.

Audio-Technica Debuts ATDM-0604 Digital SmartMixer®

InfoComm, Orlando, FL 06-14-2017 – Audio-Technica (booth 6151), a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 50 years, is debuting its ATDM-0604 Digital SmartMixer®. Featuring intuitive use, superior echo-canceling and flexible web remote functionality, the ATDM-0604 is a six-channel automatic mixer ideal for meetings, conferences, soft codec applications, courtroom proceedings, radio and TV broadcasts and other applications involving the use of multiple microphones or other media inputs.

Audio-Technica’s SmartMixer technology allows channels to be mixed automatically in gate or gain sharing mode, ensuring consistent, high-quality audio output from all inputs in a setup, without the introduction of feedback, excessive ambient noise, or comb filtering. Controls and LED indicators on the mixer’s front panel allow users to easily adjust input/output and gain levels; set and recall presets; turn on/off phantom power, low-cut filter, automatic mixing and acoustic echo cancellation (AEC); change IP configuration (Auto or Static); and more. A full complement of digital signal processing is available for inputs and outputs including parametric EQ, compressor, limiter and feedback control. Control and monitoring tools are accessible locally on the front panel or via the Web Remote interface, which allows users to handle the aforementioned adjustments from a Windows-based PC, Mac, iOS or Android device, plus make additional changes to the input and output settings, select gate or gain sharing mode when using Smart Mix, and adjust other advanced settings.

The mixer is equipped with four balanced microphone inputs, two balanced Mic/Line inputs and one unbalanced stereo input, along with two balanced and two unbalanced outputs. Network (Cat5e or better) and USB ports are also included, as are A/B Audio-Technica Link ports that let users connect six ATDM-0604 mixers via Cat5e cable for simultaneous use within an expanded setup.

Audio-Technica Honors Lienau AV Associates with Samurai Award
